Project support sustainable biomass

The Netherlands Programmes Sustainable Biomass aim to make biomass production sustainable, in order to facilitate the transition to a bio-based economy. Besides subsidising projects, this is done by exchange of knowledge and experience. Several reports for support have already been written, these can be found in the publications section of this website.

In this section you can find background information on various aspects of sustainable biomass production, and requirements of biomass sustainability schemes, i.e.:

• benefit sharing
• free, prior and informed consent
• high conservation value assessment
• social and environmental impact assessment studies
• stakeholder consultation

Each section contains reports from a variety of international sources. These reports have been collected  to assist biomass project developers and other stakeholders in operationalizing the concept of sustainable biomass production in practice.
