Landscape

The Monitoring and Evaluation Programme NSW component 2.4 focusses on 'Valuation of the landscape and habituation to a wind farm'.

Objectives

• Insight into quantity of inhabitants, overnight visitors, day-trippers and recreational boaters
• Estimation of impact of large-scale offshore farms
• Development of optimisation tools for wind farm lay out, by learning and fine-tuning, with respect to environmental impact on other monitoring and evaluation aspects of the NSW-programme

Functional requirements

• Estimation of the quantity of inhabitants and visitors in adjacent coastal villages
• Insight into experiences, valuation and habituation by a questionnaire and panel, before, during, shortly after (1 year) and long after (several years) construction during various seasons

Survey items

• Monitoring developments in quantitative impact in accordance with methodology in the EIS
• Measuring developments in the evaluation of the wind farm
