6th Annual Symposium on IOP Self Healing Materials 'Cruising at full speed', 27 October 2011

On October 27 the 6th annual IOP symposium on Self Healing Materials ' ' ' was held at the Goudse Schouwburg in Gouda.

The 6th symposium offered an appealing programme covering the latest developments in the national research programme on self healing materials. The latest developments of the research in the Netherlands were presented and the famous French scientist prof. Ludwik Leibler held an lecture on the developments of self healing polymers in France. He also addressed the issues involved in the transition from academic research to the development of an industrially produced novel material.

Programme

The programme offered an opportunity for networking and bilateral contact with the researchers and industry representatives involved.

At this symposium we not only presented the latest developments in the field of self healing materials, but also said goodbye to two persons who made a crucial contribution to the development of this field in the Netherlands, our colleagues Richard van de Hof and Joris Vogelaar.
