Right of pledge
A deed of pledge is the proof that the patent owner has pledged his/her patent right to a third party.
Requirements registration Dutch patent register
- You must submit an original deed or a copy that has been certified by a civil-law notary.
- The names of the pledgor and the pledgee must be clearly stated in the deed.
- The patent number must be clearly stated in the deed.
Fees
Registration of a deed of pledge costs 27 euro per patent number. You can transfer this sum to the bank account of NL Patent Office.
Removal of the right of pledge
An established right of pledge can be cancelled.

- The pledgor or pledgee may cancel the established right of pledge.
- A signed letter must be sent to NL Patent Office.
- The patent number must be clearly stated.

Registration of the termination of a deed of pledge costs 27 euro per patent right number. You can transfer this sum to the bank account of NL Patent Office.
Registration Dutch patent register
Any amendment that is registered by means of a deed is entered in the patent register with retroactive effect.
